What do you think? What things would you like to see in the hypothetical next iteration of Transport Fever? Do you agree or disagree with the points I made?įor a line to choose any available platform in a station. There's many more things I'd like to see but which are currently already added through the Workshop, like more advanced world generation, more vehicles or additional station styles. A city would then develop according to the specific goods you do or don't deliver to it. I feel like city development would be more interesting if cities would take on all products in varying ratios. These landmarks would most likely be surrounded by tourism-related commercial buildings, making every city's layout uniquely formed around these landmarks.Īlso, the fairly limiting factor of cities only requiring one type of commerical and industrial product feels oversimplified to me. I'd love to see some variety, for example a collection of historic buildings popping up that stay throughout the years and possibly attract tourists, adding another aspect of industry to the game. No historic buildings are left behind through the years and sooner or later every city just keeps on growing and looks like the same place with the messy layout of high rise buildings surrounded by sprawl. To me, every city feels very bland and quite identical to me now. Improved city development/city landmarks/tourism as industry Another challanging but fun addition this would bring is the ability to schedule trains on different lines throughout the day, possibly reducing the number of rolling stock and maximizing profit.

Right now I find myself churning out trains onto my lines, both express and commuter, often unnecessarily waiting at signals, something that could be solved by intricate timetabling. I'd love to see another option to slow the game down to actual days, in such a way that a system for timetabling of trains could be implemented. I personally feel like that even on normal speed this is way too fast. This is of course needed as the game right now is focussed on the development of transport throughout history. The game as it is now does not have a time system, it just skips through full days in a matter of seconds. This would be a pretty drastic feature to implement, but would make the game so much more interesting and challenging for the more experienced players.
